MUMBAI: In order to increase the speed of investigations into clues from Navi Mumbai regarding the serial blasts at Ahmedabad, the Anti-Terrorism Squad probing the matter has decided to form 25 units to probe various aspects.

"We have formed 25 teams to carry out the probe in the matter," Joint Commissioner of Police (Anti-Terrorism Squad) Hemant Karkare said.

The teams are expected to seek support from branches of local police, crime branch and central agencies while probing the links to the blasts which have emerged from neighbouring Navi Mumbai, a senior ATS official said.

The ATS is investigating the threatening email sent by an alleged terror group prior to the blasts in Ahmedabad which was traced to the computer of an American national residing in the Sanpada area of Navi Mumbai.

The investigators are also probing if a hacker managed to access the computer through a local wireless network or remotely in order to send the email.

Four cars, two used as car bombs in the Ahmedabad blasts and two found unexploded in Surat, have also been traced to Navi Mumbai from where they were found to have been stolen.
