Assam to have Capital Region Development Authority

GUWAHATI: For development the peripheral areas Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal decided to create Assam State Capital Region Development Authority.

To stimulate fast development of all areas adjoining Guwahati, Assam State Capital Region Development Authority will come in operation.

The meeting which was attended by the Finance, Planning and Development Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia, Additional Chief Secretary MGVK Bhanu, Commissioner and Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjay Lohia, Commissioner and Secretary Finance Dr. Ravi Kota and CEO Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority

It is decided to take into cognizance the opinions of the local people and consult them before taking final call on the project. The meeting decided to prepare a draft law to give a shape to the proposed Assam State Capital Region Development.
