Assam to come up with skill university with an investment of Rs 900 Crore

GUWAHATI: Assam cabinet on Thursday approved Assam Skill Development University Bill which provides for setting up Skill University at Mangaldoi with an investment of Rs 900 crore.

Assam Government has tied up ITE Education Service, Singapore for setting up of a Skill University.

The cabinet meeting also decided to increase the upper age limit for State government jobs for group III and Group IV for two years so that unemployed youth can apply for jobs upto 40 years.


The meeting gave its approval for the Assam Heritage Protection and Preservation Bill. “ Insurance to the tune of Rs. 50 lakh to journalists, home guards and all casual employees succumbed to Covid 19 infection while performing their duties was approved”.

The meeting decided to take Rs. 116 crore from NABARD for completion of Dhansiri irrigation project launched in 1975.
