GUWAHATI: Billed as one the biggest education infrastructure creation in the tea estates of Assam in post-independence era, state government on November 1 will start construction of 104 high schools across the state.

On November 1 there will foundation lying of all these schools across the state simultaneously. Assam education minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that for not having high schools in tea estates students from tea tribe community had to face lot of difficulties. “This will also arrest the school dropout in Assam. These schools will be completed in six months.”

He said, “In post-Independence era these will biggest education related infrastructure creation. Earlier we have constructed 16 CBSE schools.”


Assam government will roll out “Orunodoi” scheme, which proposes to alleviate the financial problem of the improvised families through substantial income support.

He added, “This scheme will benefit over 20 lakh people and every household which be benefited by this scheme a logo will fixed outside such household.”
