Assam Police will be on Facebook, Twitter now
Assam police to take to social networking to reach out to youths.
A.P Tiwari, Senior Superintendent of Police, Guwahati, told ET, "We have different ways to reach out to different people. However we were feeling that we were not reaching out to youths and educated section."
Sources said, "Guwahati is growing in size and amenities, people from different places of Northeast come to stay here. "As there is huge population residing here, militants look to conceal themselves. However we are maintaining vigilance and have been able to nab several such cadres."
Sources said in order to contain this situation police requires innovative policing, where it can involve community at large, and social networking is one of them.It will provide a platform for people to interact with the police.
