Assam: PM Modi to lay foundation stone of a Kaziranga project on January 17, says Himanta Biswa Sarma

Sarma said that the Cabinet has extended its gratitude to the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for granting the 34.5 KM long elevated corridor at Kaziranga National Park.

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Assam on January 17 and lay the foundation of elevated corridor project in Kaziranga.

Sarma said that the Cabinet has extended its gratitude to the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for granting the 34.5 KM long elevated corridor at Kaziranga National Park.

"The Prime Minister will arrive in Assam capital town Guwahati on January 17. He will be present at the grand cultural spectacle where nearly 10,000 Bagurumba dancers will perform together at Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex on January 17."


He added that on January 18 the Prime Minister will also flag off two trains virtually, one will run from Dibrugarh to Gomti and the other one is from Guwahati to Rota.

He said that the Prime Minister will also address a public meeting on January 18 at Kaliabar.

The Chief Minister said that the elevated corridor project will reduce the distance from Jorhat to Guwahati.
