Assam orders enquiry into Jawan's death in CM residence

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal ordered an inquiry after recovery of bullet riddled body of an Assam police jawan from security barrack of official residence of Chief Minister


GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has ordered an inquiry following recovery of bullet riddled body of an Assam police jawan from the security barrack attached to the official residence of Chief Minister at Kharghuli in Guwahati.

Body of Lance Naik Sukleswar Kathar had six bullets hit in the body, which were fired from his service weapon, an AK 47 rifle.


Guwahati Police Commissioner, PC saloi said, “It is difficult to comment at this moment as to whether it is a suicide or some other people are involved in killing Kathar. Body was handed over to the family members after post mortem on Monday."

Just few months back Kathar posted in the residence of Assam Chief Minister.
