Guwahati: Assam Minister Bimal Borah on Friday suggested the Speaker of Assam Legislative assembly Biswajit Daimary to arrange for a detention room in the assembly premises for the suspended members of the House.

Borah is minister for Industries and commerce.Independent legislator Akhil Gogoi was suspended from the House on Friday. He was suspended couple of times in the ongoing winter session bod the assembly.

Gogoi was suspended during the question hour on Friday for allegedly interrupting the proceedings of the House .


"The suspended members of the House often go out and told outside their version of the suspension, leading to a different understanding of the situation. This could lead to spread of wrong message among the people," he said.

"It can be a VIP holding area with all facilities. The suspended members should be kept there to ensure that they cannot go out and speak whatever they want," said Borah.

Speaker Biswajit Daimary, however, urged all the members of the House to follow the set rules for the smooth conduction of the House proceedings.
