Assam Jatiya Parishad to fight election on Ship symbol; Miscreants attack AJP president Lurin Jyoti Gogoi’s convoy in Nalbari

Miscreants attacked Assam Jatiya Parishad’s (AJP) president Lurin Jyoti Gogoi’s convoy in Nalbari. The newly floated party has a ship as its party’s symbol.

A police officer who did not want to be named said, “Gogoi’s convoy was attacked and we are investigating the matter. Gogoi went to Barkhetri constituency for an election campaign on Sunday when some miscreants attacked his vehicle.”

This is first violent incident in this election. Election commission announced three phase polls in Assam.


He was accompanied by former speaker Pulakesh Barua. AJP has condemned the attack and alleged that BJP supporters terrified by the popularity of AJP are resorting to such attacks.
