Assam govt to frame a comprehensive New Land Policy for state
Assam government has decided to frame a comprehensive New Land Policy for the entire State.

A three-member committee headed by Adviser to Chief Minister, Agriculture, Dr. Bhumidhar Barman has been constituted to frame a comprehensive New Land Policy for the entire State.
The committee would submit recommendations to the Government on land use and sustainable land management, land resources conservation and development, identify agricultural and non-agricultural land, resettlement of land, preservation of water bodies and hills, encroachment problem within four months.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said the policy would incorporate various issues relating to land resettlement for the landless, impoverished and marginalised people and those affected by floods and erosion.
