Assam government's compliance with various rules procedure unsatisfactory: CAG
Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has observed that Assam government’s compliance with various rules procedures and directives was unsatisfactory.

The CAG in its report on State finances for the year ended March 31, 2013 tabled in the state assembly on Monday stated that delays also figured in submission of annual accounts by some of the autonomous bodies/councils.
Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Sarbananda Sonowal last week had stated Assam government has not submitted utilisation certificates of over Rs 10,000 crore to the Centre for the past two terms of the Congress-led UPA government.
CAG added that annual accounts in respect of large number of government bodies/authorities due up to 2012-13 had not been received by the account general (audit).
"There were instances of loss and misappropriation which remained unsettled with various departments for period ranging from one to 20 years," the report stated.
The report stated there were 69 projects which were due to completed by March 2013 in which Rs 315.96 Crore was blocked. "Of these 49 projects involving Rs 255.22 Crore remained incomplete for less than three years and seven projects involving an amount of Rs 29.96 Crore remained incomplete for periods ranging from three to five years."
