Assam government gears up for first anniversary
The BJP-led state government is preparing for a grand show on the first anniversary, which coincides with the completion of three years of the NDA government at the Centre.
BJP’s state unit president Ranjeet Kumar Das announced that the party will give befitting reply to Congress. “We too will have programme on May 28. However, I do not want to reveal much about it now.”

On May 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the state government’s function marking its first anniversary. Modi will address nation from Guwahati on May 26 besides inaugurating Dhola-Sadiya Bridge and laying the foundation stone of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Changsari in the vicinity of Guwahati. Modi will also inaugurate Indian Council of Agricultural Research’s project in Gogamukh.
Congress has decided to kickstart the 45-day from Guwahati where it will observe the ‘betrayal day’ in every block and districts of the state. BJP, meanwhile, has prepared a programme where it plans to take achievement of the one-year-old government to people across the state.
Assam Pradesh congress committee president Ripun Bora told ET, “NDA government at Centre and BJP-led government in Assam has made a uturn on promises it made before polls.”
