Assam government decides to set up 100 Yoga Centres along with trained instructors in the state
On the occasion of 3rd International Day of Yoga, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal participated in a mass Yoga demonstration event in Nalbari district.

Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the government of Assam is mulling over a proposal to set up 100 Yoga Centres alongwith trained instructors in the state.
Sarma also said that several steps have been taken to improve Ayurvedic Healthcare in Assam and the state government will set up two new Ayurvedic Medical Colleges in the state.
On the occasion of 3rd International Day of Yoga, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal participated in a mass Yoga demonstration event in Nalbari district.
Sonowal said, “Yoga is a way of living that aims towards establishing peace and creating a healthy mind in a healthy body. It helps to promote a balanced development of physical, mental and spiritual self.”
“Yoga is an essential part of Indian civilization and culture. While using Yoga to build a healthy body and mind, we must use its benefits to strengthen our peace, harmony and brotherhood. Considering the positive inputs of Yoga, our government will take up steps to celebrate the International Day of Yoga covering all gaon panchayats, schools, char (riverine) areas and tea gardens of the state in future”, the Chief Minister asserted.
