Assam government buys 60K Deendayal biographies for Rs 1.6 crore

In a written reply to a question of Leader of the Opposition, Debabrata Saikia, Cultural Affairs (Library and Archeology) minister Keshab Mahanta said the government has purchased the books for different libraries

GUWAHATI: Assam government has spent Rs 1.6 Crore in purchasing 60,000 books. These books of 15 volume is biography of BJP ideologue Deendayal Upadhyaya.

In a written reply to a question of Leader of the Opposition, Debabrata Saikia, Cultural Affairs (Library and Archeology) minister Keshab Mahanta said the government has purchased the books for different libraries, educational and other institutes. The book was purchased from New Delhi-based publisher Prabhat Prakashan.

The minister added government has not taken any proposal to purchase similar biographies of other person.
