Assam: Four arrested for objectionable posts, inciting group clash in Tinsukia

Two groups of people had clashed at Doomdooma over Tazia and Ganesh Puja.

Police have arrested three persons for inciting group clash in Doomdooma on September 13.
TINSUKIA, ASSAM: Assam Police today arrested one Aziz Khan for posting objectionable stuff in social Media pertaining to Hindu deities.

The district is witnessing a bandh over the issue. On September 10, Hindu Yuba Chatra Parishad, Assam lodged an FIR against Khan over his Facebook post, following which he went absconding.

Police have also arrested three persons for inciting group clash in Doomdooma on September 13.


Tension is prevailing in the Doomdooma and Borhapjan areas. Police on Friday had to resort to baton charge and fire tear gas shells to quell tensions in the area.
