Assam Floods: Death toll reaches 69

Around 644 numbers of Relief Camps are operational in the districts with 96,890 inmates and around 113 Relief Distribution Centres are functioning.

The floods in Assam are caused every year.
GUWAHATI: While water levels in several areas are receding, the death toll in the current wave of flood has increased to 69.

A total of 2,283 numbers of villages in 59 revenue circles of 18 Districts which included Dhemaji, Biswanath, Darrang, Barpeta, Nalbari, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, South Salmara, Goalpara, Kamrup, Kamrup (M), Morigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat and Cachar, are affected by flooding.

Presently flood has affected over 30, 55, 837. Around 644 numbers of Relief Camps are operational in the districts with 96,890 inmates and around 113 Relief Distribution Centres are functioning.
