Assam deputes senior official to liaison with pilgrims stranded in Uttarakhand

The State Government has also appointed Sudhakar Singh, SB (Z) as the Nodal Officer to monitor the situation there.

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi directed the Chief Secretary NK Das to depute Commissioner & Secretary, Finance, Rajiv C Joshi to move to Uttarakhand to liaise with the Government regarding the status of the pilgrims of the State who have got stranded there in view of unprecedented flash floods.

The State Government has also appointed Sudhakar Singh, SB (Z) as the Nodal Officer to monitor the situation there. According to Singh, total 15 calls have been received from different parts of the State which account for 51 pilgrims. The information received has been passed on to the Government of Uttarakhand, Singh said.
