GUWAHATI: In a throwback to the bitter fight between Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP and the Delhi Lt Governor, the ruling Congress in Assam has decided to protest outside the Raj Bhawan on Tuesday against the state Governor’s reported remark that Congress has exploited India more than the British and Mughals.

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has alleged that Governor PB Acharya is out to saffronise Dibrugarh University executive council and the court by appointing an RSS member and someone from outside the state. Acharya is the Chancellor of the university. If one verifies the names of members he (Governor) has appointed, one can clearly make out what the Governor is up to," Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi recently said.

Launching a vituperative attack against Acharya, APCC said that he is acting as a spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In Silchar, Acharya had said that Congress in the last 60 years exploited India more than the Mughals and Britishers.
