Cong will observe “betrayal day” on Jan 4. It will launch mission 79 plus seat from 2016 assembly polls as a counter to BJP’s mission of 84 plus seat.

Congress party will observe “betrayal day” on January 4. Rahul will participate in the programme. Congress to will launch mission 79 plus seat from the 2016 assembly polls as a counter to BJP’s mission of 84 plus seat.
The state party unit is charged up with new congress president, Anjan Dutta taking over the reigns of the party.
Riddled by factionalism and infighting, congress in Assam seems to be regrouped. Dutta said, “Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi has requested Rahul to participate in the party’s event here. We are bringing over 60,000 congressmen from different places of Assam.”
Modi government’s support to Indo-Bangladesh land swap deal, stooping of subsidized ration from January 1, suspension of the registration under the schemes of North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy, 2007 (NEIIPP 2007) and slashing of budget of MNREGA are some issues on which the grand old party is looking to corner the centre government.
Chief minister Tarun Gogoi said that the BJP has done a U-turn on all the promises that it had made to the people of Assam during the Lok Sabha election. “BJP’s Mission 84 will just remain a dream. The people of Assam have now seen the true colours of this party. Whether it is big dams, the land swap deal with Bangladesh, rations for tea labourers, employment, etc., the BJP was going back on its promises made to the electorate of the State.”
Dutta said congress will romp back to power in Assam. “I would focus on removing dissatisfaction within the party and travel across the length and breadth of the State to motivate the party members.”
