Assam CM Tarun Gogoi questions PM Modi’s silence over Lalit Modi issue
GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his “silence” on the controversy surrounding former IPL chief Lalit Modi.

Gogoi said despite External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s admission of their involvement with Lalit Modi, the prime minister has preferred to remain silent, which raises questions over his sincerity and commitment to fight corruption.

"The BJP-led government at the Centre stood solidly to shield Swaraj and Raje, who helped the fugitive Lalit Modi," Gogoi said.
