Assam CM Tarun Gogoi hints at grand alliance to keep BJP at bay
GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday hinted at a grand alliance of different political parties in a bid to keep BJP at bay in the 2016 assembly polls.

Gogoi hinted at a probable tie-up with the All India United Democratic Front ( AIUDF), Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) the Left parties and newly formed party of activist Akhil Gogoi to contest 2016 assembly polls.

Gogoi said, “There could be a possibility of forming an alliance of all these rival parties to keep the BJP away from forming the government in the state.“ Gogoi said Bodoland Peoples' Front (BPF), which is in power in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) has said it will support whoever forms government in Dispur.

Recently , Congress is cosying up to AIUDF.

Attacking PM Narendra Modi, Gogoi said,“I agree with Arun Shourie. When the country is passing through worst of times of religious intolerance, why Modi is silent.“
