GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today extended financial assistance to ULFA(I) commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah's ailing octogenarian mother.

Gogoi announced Rs one lakh assistance to Miliki Baruah who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dibrugarh, a statement issued by the chief minister said.

85-year old Miliki Baruah was hospitalised last week following complaints of respiratory problems.

Miliki is a social activist of Jeraigaon, Panitola of Dibrugarh district, he said and expressed concern over her health.
