NEW DELHI: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today fully backed the Army's strike on insurgent camps in Myanmar saying such operations should be continued to completely flush out militants from the region.

"We welcome the Indian Army's strike on insurgent outfits in Myanmar early on Tuesday. It was a welcome development. Such attacks should be continued in future too to flush out the militants completely," he said at a press conference here.

Gogoi said such attack would help in bringing durable peace in the region.

The Chief Minister said Army's offensive on the insurgent outfits would also help in protecting territorial integrity of the country.

He also said that the Army action would send right signal across all elements looking out to carry subversive activities.
