Assam: CM Sarbananda Sonowal asks official to inspect market and arrest the soaring prices of essential items
Sonowal also said, “Once we get reports from the districts we can actually ascertain the actual cause of price rise and we will be able to arrest the problem”.

Sonowal expressed concern over rising prices and issued a direction to the Deputy Commissioners to carry out compulsory market inspection in their respective districts and submit their report with photograph to the Chief Minister’s Office by June 29.
According to government statement direction has also been given to the Deputy Commissioners to take remedial steps to control price rise so that essential commodities do not remain out of reach.
Sonowal also said, “Once we get reports from the districts we can actually ascertain the actual cause of price rise and we will be able to arrest the problem”.
Sonowal also asked Deputy Commissioners to convene meeting with whole sellers, retailers and Market Committees.
He also directed the inspectors of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department to undertake inspections at the whole sellers and retailers and address the mismatch of whole sale price and that of the retail.
