In a communication issued on October 30, 2026, the Chief Minister stressed on the importance of keeping the concerned local MLAs informed in advance about visits undertaken by Ministers to their constituencies. He also asked Ministers to extend prior invitations to the respective MLAs to join and participate in public programmes and official functions, thereby further strengthening collective engagement with the people.
Sarma has also maintained that even during departmental meetings and official review programmes, where the participation of MLAs may not be required, keeping the concerned legislators informed in advance would be a welcome practice reflecting mutual responsibility towards public welfare.
Highlighting the importance of a collaborative approach to governance, Sarma observed that elected representatives are vital stakeholders in the development process, given their close association with the people and their understanding of local aspirations and priorities.
Greater coordination between Ministers and MLAs, the Chief Minister observed, would further enrich the process of governance and facilitate more effective implementation of developmental initiatives. The Chief Minister moreover said that by encouraging greater participation in official engagements a culture of collective efforts and a common commitment to public welfare would be achieved.
