Sarma said that two ministers both from BJP will be inducted in the council of ministers on June 9.
BJP-led government has announced that two ministers Jayanta Malla Baruah and Nandita Garlosa will be inducted in the council of ministers. The swearing-in of the ministers will take place on Thursday.

Baruah is BJP MLA from Nalbari constituency, he along with Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa SArma left Congress party in 2015 to join BJP.

Garlosa is the BJP MLA from Haflong. This is the first expansion of Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government in Assam. Four berths are vacant in the council of ministers.


Sarma said that two ministers both from BJP will be inducted in the council of ministers on June 9.

Sarma on Friday last said, “Nobody will be dropped and there is no question of dropping anyone.”

The BJP-led government in Assam romped back to power for a second consecutive term last year.

In the March-April polls to the 126-member Assam Assembly, the BJP had secured 60 seats. With by-polls win BJP’s tally in the state assembly had gone to 63.
