GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi on Saturday slammed Union external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj for not raising the issue of infiltration with Bangladesh on her recent visit to the country.

He also criticized the Centre’s proposal to issue five-year multiple-entry visas to Bangladeshi nationals visiting India.

Gogoi said: “We are opposed to multiple-entry visas for Bangladeshi nationals to India. Swaraj had agreed over the multiple-entry visa to India. They [the NDA government] had not taken our consent. However, I am still opposed to the multiple-entry visa provision.”
