Assam assembly offers internship to student to carryout research

What is expected to motivate students to take up politics as a career option, Assam assembly has offered internship to around 20 students to carry out research in selected topics related to the Assembly in an academic manner.

Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly Hitendra Nath Goswami urged the young generation to opt for politics as a career in order to serve the society.

The Internship programme is a first of its kind. The first Internship programme comprises of 20 students for a period of one month under the Speaker’s Research Initiative was rolled on Monday.


Under this programme students from different parts of the state hailing from different colleges and universities will get an opportunity to research on selected topics related to the Assembly in an academic manner.

They will get access to the library and the archives in this regard and will make reports on their research findings.

Debabrata Saikia, Leader of the Opposition explained the students about the importance of an opposition in a democratic system of government.
