Asian Development Bank delegation meets Sarbananda Sonowal

The delegation discussed with the Chief Minister various flood and erosion protection schemes presently being implemented in Assam.

Sarbananda Sonowal informed the delegation that the State Government is taking up adequate measures for expeditious implementation of schemes aided by the Bank for flood and erosion control in Assam.
GUWAHATI: A two member delegation of Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by its senior Water Resources Specialist Olivier Drieu met Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

The delegation discussed with the Chief Minister various flood and erosion protection schemes presently being implemented in Assam.

During discussion, the delegation informed the Chief Minister that they were satisfied with the quality of flood and erosion protection works being implemented by the State Water Resources Department and gave an assurance for continued support to the State Government. The delegation further informed that soon additional fund would be released to the Water Resources Department for completing the schemes presently under implementation.


Sonowal informed the delegation that the State Government is taking up adequate measures for expeditious implementation of schemes aided by the Bank for flood and erosion control in Assam.

He also expressed hope that ADB would continue its support to the State Government in future also.
