Ashok Jha takes over as Finance Secretary

Senior IAS officer Ashok Jha on Wednesday assumed charge as the new Finance Secretary.

NEW DELHI: Senior IAS officer Ashok Jha on Wednesday assumed charge as the new Finance Secretary.
Jha, a 1969 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, was earlier Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance.
He replaced Adarsh Kishore, who would go to International Monetary Fund on a three-year term as Executive Director.
Besides, Sanjiv Mishra, a 1972 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, also took over as the Expenditure Secretary.
Mishra, who was Disinvestment Secretary earlier, would continue to hold charge of the department of disinvestment.
