Ashok Gehlot sworn-in as Chief Minister of Rajasthan.

JAIPUR: Congress Legislature Party leader Ashok Gehlot was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan here this morning.

State Governor S K Singh administered the oath of office and secrecy to him at a ceremony in Raj Bhawan.

Former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawt and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje were present on the occasion.

Gehlot, born on May 3, 1951 in Jodhpur, is a leader of Indian National Congress party. He was the Chief Minister of Rajasthan from December 1, 1998 to December 8, 2003.

Gehlot as a Chief Minister was alleged to be singly handedly responsible for the worst electoral defeat of the Congress Party in Rajasthan since the first general elections in 1952.
