Ashok Chavan elected to the Executive Committee of the Congress Party

T Subbarami Reddy was elected Treasurer in the election to the Congress Parliamentary Party, Returning Officer Janardan Dwivedi announced.

NEW DELHI: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan was today elected to the Executive Committee of the Congress Party in Parliament in polls which saw former Union ministers Kodikunnil Suresh and Rajiv Shukla become secretaries from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha respectively.

T Subbarami Reddy was elected Treasurer in the election to the Congress Parliamentary Party, Returning Officer Janardan Dwivedi announced.

In the elections held unanimously, those elected members to the Executive Committee besides Chavan are Biren Singh Engti, K H Muniyappa, K V Thomas, M I Shanavas, Mausam Noor, Nandi Yelliah, Ninong Ering, R Dhruvanarayan (all Lok Sabha).

Also from the Lok Sabha on the Executive Committee are Youth Congress chief Rajeev Satav, Ranjeet Ranjan, Ravneet Singh, T Meinya, Tamradhwaj Sahu and Vincent H Pala.

The Rajya Sabha members elected to the Executive Committee are Anand Bhaskar Rapolu, Ashk Ali Tak, Bhalchandra Mungekar, Hussain Dalwai, J D Seelam, Pradeep Bhattacharya and Viplove Thakur.
