Ashok Chaudhary takes charges as new BPCC president

The 43 year-old leader, who was a minister in the erstwhile RJD government, took charge as the new BPCC President at Sadaqat Ashram.

PATNA: Ashok Chaudhary took over as President of Bihar PCC today from Chaudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser and promised to revive the party and take it back to the glory of its heydays in the state.

The 43 year-old leader, who was a minister in the erstwhile RJD government, took charge as the new BPCC President at Sadaqat Ashram.

Later talking to reporters, Chaudhary thanked Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice-president Rahul Gandhi for entrusting him the responsibility of reviving the party's fortunes in Bihar.

Kaiser had quit his post owning responsibility for the party's debacle in the 2010 assembly polls but had been working as the acting president since then.
