Arvind Ranjan to be new CISF DG; gets additional charge
Senior IPS officer and current NSG chief Arvind Ranjan is tipped to be the new Director General of Central Industrial Security Force.

The post of CISF chief is vacant for over a month when incumbent Rajiv (known by one name) retired on October 31.
Union Home Ministry today issued orders asking Ranjan to hold the charge of CISF DG in an "additional capacity", taking the responsibility away from BSF chief Subhash Joshi.
Sources said orders would soon be issued appointing Ranjan, an IPS officer of 1977-batch Kerala cadre, as the full time chief of the 1.47 lakh-personnel strong force which not only secures 59 airports in the country but also guards a number of critical infrastructure in the aerospace and nuclear power sector.
Sources said Home Ministry will also issue orders for the appointment of a new DG for the National Security Guard (NSG), country's primary counter-terror force.
