Arvind Kejriwal lists ambitious plans for next year

New Delhi: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has set a few goals for the year ahead, including expediting Wi-Fi services and installation of CCTV cameras. He said that 3,000 mohalla sabhas were in the making and maps of some of them will be ready in the next 20 days.
The sabhas would be notified to make public participation in governance a reality. He also spoke of planning and building elevated BRTs.
The CM credited Delhiites for the success of the odd-even restrictions. He said that the scheme worked because the government engaged with the public before its launch. "It failed in other parts of the world but worked in Delhi because of the people.
We again went to the people and with their views in mind the odd-even plan will re-start from April 15," Kejriwal said.
To weed out corruption in the PDS system, biometrics at ration shops in 42 places right now will be extended to all shops by May 31. All consumers will have to give their biometrics when they receive monthly ration.
Kejriwal also spoke about the "costly" power being purchased by the discoms. "We are trying to study the possibility of cancelling the past contracts to buy cheaper power. The power minister is exploring the options," he said.
