NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today directed removal of an encroachment around a war cemetery in Model Town area after it was highlighted by British High Commissioner to India Sir James David Bevan.

The British High Commissioner met the chief minister today and highlighted the issue of encroachment and protection of the war cemetery in Model Town area.

Kejriwal immediately directed the Divisional Commissioner to inspect the site and send a report to his office about the required measures for protection.

The two also discussed the situation of power and water in the city. Kejriwal said that sewer system and solid waste management are areas of concern for the Delhi government.

He also inquired about successful water management system being used in London for water recycling.

Outlining the challenges of the Delhi Government, Kejriwal said, "Full-statehood is the only thing I seem is a challenge, rest everything can be done with the people of Delhi on our side."

The High Commissioner also congratulated Kejriwal for the victory in assembly elections and asked the factor behind the party's massive win.

In reply, Kejriwal said, "It was a mix of several factors that led to the huge mandate. People were excited about our 49-day governance, they wanted us back as they saw corruption was stopped, ...they saw a change in power and water scenario."

Kejriwal explained that corruption was on the top of the agenda of the government apart from education, health, water and electricity. He told the High Commissioner his government is confident that Delhi will be one of the top corruption free cities in the world in next five years.
