Arvind Kejriwal asks ministers to submit plan to uproot corruption
NEW DELHI: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has asked Cabinet ministers for a “detailed action plan to uproot the scourge of corruption” from the respective departments under their charge.

Concerned by the persistence of petty corruption in Delhi government services, as detailed in the recent CMS-India Corruption Study 2015, he asked all his ministers to focus on areas more prone to petty corruption mentioned in the report like availing new ration cards, driving licences, hospital services, power connections, among others.

“As you are aware, our government maintains a zero tolerance approach towards corruption in public life. It is, therefore, requested that a detailed action plan may be drawn to uproot the scourge of corruption from the departments under your charge, focusing specially on the critical areas pointed out in the CMS-India Corruption Study-2015 report. I look forward to receive the action plan within one week,” Kejriwal’s letter to Manish Sisodia reads. This explanation followed earlier explanation of specific avenues of corruption across six areas identified as “vulnerable to corruption”.

These include most elementary services like getting roads and streets cleaned, birth and death certificates to getting building plans sanctioned. All of these were a part of portfolios under Sisodia’s watch. Letters have also gone to other ministers listing services prone to corruption from their respective departments.
