NEW DELHI: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, in a meeting with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation officials on Monday, asked them to expedite pending Metro projects which had been stuck due to "political interventions".

"In a recent meeting with the DMRC chief, I assured him that all projects which were stuck due to land disputes and political interventions, would now take off smoothly. I have also asked DMRC to consider increasing the number of train coaches," he said.

Delhi Metro has been asked to consult in a number of Metro projects across the country, including projects in Noida and Gurgaon.

The Congress-led Delhi government had expressed reservations about Delhi Metro Rail Corporation taking up projects outside the capital, especially since work on phase III of the Delhi Metro network is on-going. DMRC has already taken up projects in Kochi and Jaipur.

DMRC is also in the process of adding coaches to the Yellow (HUDA City Centre-Jehangirpuri), Blue (Dwarka Sector 21-Noida/Vaishali) and Red lines (Inderlok-Dilshad Garden), said Delhi Metro officials.
