Arvind Kejriwal, Amitabh Bachchan bond with poem, tweet

NEW DELHI: Cinema and politics have often seen a connect in India. This time, however, there is an interesting link between Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Delhi's CM elect Arvind Kejriwal. The link is poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

Kejriwal has been heard spouting lines from a Harivansh Rai Bachchan poem in a post-win radio ad inviting the public to his swearing-in ceremony on Saturday.Bachchan also tweeted this poem by his father as a picture on Thursday . What's more, a day after the Delhi election results, Big B posted a tweet seemingly acknowledging AAP's victory , though he did not name anyone."15th year of 3rd Millennium...15th year of 21st Century ...5th year of 202 decade...Happy 2015 !! Amazing contribution by IRS (sic) offi cer!" read his tweet.

The Hindi poem's refrain "Koshish karne waalon ki kabhi haar nahin hoti" (Those who try never fail) seems fit for Kejriwal who has made a scintillating return after a disastrous in nings as a CM last year.

In the radio ad, Kejriwal begins with the lines: "Nanhi cheenti jab daana lekar chalti hai, chadhti deewaron par, sau baar phisalti haiMan ka vishwas ragon mien saahas bharta hai, chadhkar girna, girkar chadhna na akharta haiAakhir uski mehnat kabhi bekaar nahin hoti Koshish karne waalon ki kabhi hair nahin hoti" (When a tiny ant marches on with a grain, it slips and falls a hundred times climbing a wallSelf-belief fills the heart with courage, and the rise and fall cease to be troublesomeIt's hard work doesn't go waste, after all Those who try never fail).
