Lawyers of dentist Rajesh Talwar, accused of killing his teenaged daughter Arushi and family help, today filed bail applications in a local court, claiming he was totally innocent and that he suffered from asthma.

NOIDA: Lawyers of dentist Rajesh Talwar, accused of killing his teenaged daughter Arushi and family help, today filed bail applications in a local court, claiming he was totally innocent and that he suffered from asthma.

The applications of Talwar, who was remanded to judicial custody yesterday, is expected to come up for hearing on Monday.

Abhijeet Chatterjee, Talwar's lawyer, said there was no evidence against him linking him to the crime. No case under section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) could be made against him, the lawyer told reporters.

He said the application was also made because Talwar was a serious asthmatic patient and he was bound to suffer in the jail.

Chatterjee said Talwar could have been arrested because of media pressure.

Asked who was behind the murder, he said that was the job of the prosecution.
