The multi-purpose cultural hall at Naharlagun near here, which would house the municipal council, has been remodelled to serve the purpose.

ITANAGAR: Itanagar municipality, the first urban civic body of Arunachal Pradesh, will start functioning after its inaugural by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki tomorrow.

The multi-purpose cultural hall at Naharlagun near here, which would house the municipal council, has been remodelled to serve the purpose, official sources said.

Offices of the Chief Municipal Councillor, his deputy, various committee members and administrative staff would be housed in that building.

The CM would inaugurate the building tomorrow in the presence of local MLA Techi Kaso.

During his visit to the state in February, Union Human Resource Development Minister M M Pallam Raju had been impressed by the building and had advised Tuki to utilise it properly.

Tuki later decided to house the municipal council office there.
