ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Monday condemned the arrest of VHP workers by the Uttar Pradesh government and said it was aimed at garnering minority votes.


The Ayodhya heritage site should be respected as it has deep religious significance for thousands of people, state VHP President Tama Mindo said in a statement here.

The unit said its members would participate in the Parikrama Yatra despite the threat of arrest by the UP government.
