The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki here last evening, government spokesman Bamang Felix said in a communiqué, adding that it would replace the State Planning Board.

The main functions of the SDC would be to approve the State Annual Development Agenda (SADA) to be prepared by the Planning department and the Chairman of SDC would hold sectoral meetings for finalisation of the Sectoral Annual Development Agenda.

The cabinet also held discussions on constitution of cabinet committees as announced in this year's Budget to oversee and carry forward the aims and targets highlighted in it.
