Arunachal Pradesh government stops transfers after Election Commission order
ITANAGAR: In pursuance of Election Commission of India's order on September 9, Arunachal Pradesh government has stopped posting and transfer of officers discharging duties of Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) in the state with immediate effect.

The ban would continue till completion of Special Summary Revision of photo electoral roll on January next year as qualifying date, which has been commenced from October 15, an official communiqué said here today.

The government has further instructed all deputy commissioners to make arrangements by allowing neighbouring circle officers and extra assistant commissioners to hold additional charges of those assembly constituencies where posts are vacant so as to ensure smooth carrying of the work of the special summary revision.

The order to this effect was issued by Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi, the communiqué added.
