GUWAHATI: Arunachal Pradesh government choose to down play reported Chinese troops intrusion in Chaglagam area of Arunachal Pradesh.

Chinese troops have come 20 kilometers inside the Indian territory on August 13 and stayed there for over two days, Ninong Ering, Union minister of state for minority affairs and MP from Arunachal East constituency, the area where Chinese soldiers had face off with Indian troops told ET, " From the available information of Defence ministry, state government and local administration we can say that there is no Chinese intrusion into the Indian side."

He said, "Local people of the area say generally soldiers from China come there and go when they lost the tract. This incident might be one of such cases. Those places are highly inaccessible as there is hardly any road connectivity. It takes several days of walking to reach the area."

Ering said the area is effectively manned by Indo Tibetan border police and there is also presence of army in the sector. "Such incidents do take place during patrolling."

Army to have downplayed the incidents stating that such incidents do take place while patrolling the disputed Line of Actual Control (LAC).
