Arunachal Pradesh Congress protests against map issue in China
ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today took exception to the depiction of India's map without Arunachal Pradesh and Kashmir by Chinese state-owned television CCTV while reporting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit yesterday.

The APCC, in a statement, reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India and the act of the Chinese TV channel during Modi's visit is "an insult not only to him but to the whole nation and in particular to Arunachal Pradesh".

In the statement, APCC president Padi Richo appealed to the Prime Minister to raise the issue with his Chinese counterpart during their talks.

Congress also expressed "surprise" at the silence of the BJP over the controversy.

China has been laying territorial claim over Arunachal Pradesh and parts of Jammu and Kashmir but India has been strongly resisting it.
