ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh today conferred state award on 30 teachers in recognition of their services on the occasion of Teachers' Day.

Parliamentary Secretary for Education, Bamang Felix while describing teachers as 'unsung heroes' exhorted them not to confine their teachings within the four walls of the classroom but for the larger population.

"Teachers are powerful human beings on earth who can lead a society to prosperity...." Felix said in his address.

He appreciated the teaching community for their contribution in the state and added that there is no retirement age for a teacher who contributes to the society even after his retirement in one way or the other.

"We talked about education policy and prepare plans for the education sector. However, the ultimate education depends on the teachers and their lessons in the classroom," Felix added.
