He, however, lamented that Arunachal Pradesh was not made a party to the discussion on the Naga Peace Accord.

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki welcomed the initiative of the Centre to bring a peaceful solution to the prolonged Naga political issue.

"We hope the peace accord with the NSCN(IM) will bring permanent and lasting solution to the protracted Naga political issue and peace will prevail in the entire northeastern region," Tuki said.

When asked to comment on the peace accord signed between the Centre and the NSCN(IM) on Monday, Tuki said, "While the details of the peace accord and the consensus entered upon by the Centre and the NSCN(IM) is not known, it will be immature on our part to comment at this juncture."

He, however, lamented that Arunachal Pradesh was not made a party to the discussion on the Naga Peace Accord.
