ITANAGAR: Lok Sabha member from Arunachal Pradesh Takam Sanjoy has stressed on the need to strengthen the country's easternmost sector by deploying more defence forces in Arunachal Pradesh which shares border with China.

" India should strengthen its defence base in Arunachal which is strategically sensitive and under constant threats from across the border," Sanjoy said while inaugurating three-day Arunachal Panorama, the annual festival of diversity at Rajiv Gandhi University at Doimukh near here last night.

"Our borders have been protected by our forefathers for a long time but due to technological differences in this modern world, things need to be changed," he said.

The indigenous cultures are loosing their identity due to the global technological fantasy which should be checked, Sanjoy said and called upon the people to guard age-old rich cultures.
