Arun Jaitley wants to transform Karnali into a modern village

KARNALI(GUJARAT): Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley spent a night in Vadodara district's Karnali village which he has adopted for development and rolled out a plan to transform it into a modern village.

"It is my dream to transform Karnali village into one of the most modern villages in the entire country," Jaitley said rolling out a transformation plan for the village, which he adopted under the 'Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna'.

The minister came to Vadodara from Delhi late last night and later drove to Karnali for night stay.

He said that he was happy to stay in the village and will continue to do so for its development and making it an ideal village in the entire country.

Jaitley stayed at the residence of BJP CA cell member and close aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Parindu Bhagat, popularly known as Kakubhai.

He laid foundation stone of a water tank in Karnali.

He asked Vadodara District Collector Avantika Singh Aulakh to construct a stadium for children of the village to promote events there.

Jaitley also asked her to see that all residents of the village are covered under accident insurance and life insurance schemes launched recently by the government.

The Collector said that the minister has sanctioned Rs 19.42 crore for developing various facilities in Karnali and three other villages falling under Karnali gram panchayat. These include construction of two water tanks at Vadia and Pipaliya villages, gas-based crematorium and an under construction river bridge connecting Chandod - a religious place in Karnali.

Jaitley last night also launched 'Karnali 311' mobile application to mark the Narendra Modi-led NDA government's one year in the office.

The application will help villagers to communicate with officials about problems regarding government services quickly.

The Collector claimed that Karnali is the first village in the country to have this grievance redressal mobile application.

"This mobile application will allow people of Karnali to take photographs of problems in areas and forward it to designated authorities...and it will be addressed on a priority basis," she said.
